Born in Alabama and raised on the mean streets of California, DJ Cranked, started his musical journey when he was six from which his Dad gave him a drum. It was at this moment that he realized his heart for music.

 

He first became interested in the urban music scene in 2004, as an outlet to stay away from gangs. In 2005, aged 14, he began breakdancing. Committed to excelling in dancing, DJ Cranked joined Caution Crew of Birmingham, Al, in 2010. His devotion to the dance side of the hip-hop scene led him to achieve 1st place in the 2012 Alabama Fine Arts Festival for urban solo dance. At the age of 23, he decided to shift focus from the dance aspects of the hip-hop culture and pursue more of the music side. In the summer of 2014, he got his first mixer and sought out mentorship from world-renowned DJ Capone, Mixologist at 93.3 The Beat Jamz/Mixologist at 97.9 KISS FM in Jacksonville, Fl.

Additionally, Int’l DJ Karlo and Int’l DJ Eleos also had help in his growth. By the fall of 2014, he received his big break and played his first gig at “The Camel” in Al Dhafra, UAE. He describes that night as the greatest night of his DJ career.

 

DJ Cranked has done various events and shows throughout the UAE, Spain, Turkey, Korea, the US, and now Japan. Since getting to japan 2015, he has been the DJ for events such as Turn up Fridayz and Hotline Saturday at Dacha’s in Misawa-shi, Aomori. Cranked has played as Prime Time DJ for Back 2 School Bash (international party) Face’s in Morika-shi, Iwate. He was also the first LP for DJs for Poles & Potions hosted a Ladies Night Out. He also was the Opening DJ for world-renowned DJ Chin-nen.

Along with these accomplishments, he has opened for Japan Day Festival in Aomori prefecture three times. He is curently  slated for Main DJ Slot for American Day Festival and Misawa's 1st Annual Music Festival. All of this while holding a residency at Bar Tipsy, Faultline, Club Face's,& Urban Essex Radio

 

Suffice to say, the urban scene should be expecting big things from DJ Cranked now and years to come.
